The Civic Arts Centre is housed in the same building as the Civic Theatre. The Arts Centre is independently managed by a group of local people. Board meetings are held every month - anyone interested in joining the board is welcome to get in touch. Charity status pending.

Hiring the Centre

It is possible to hire the Arts Centre for workshops, meetings, conferences and events. There are three rooms available - the main studio space, workshop room and the bar area. All three rooms can be hired individually or the whole centre can be hired.

Costs per hour

Studio space £25.00

Workshop room £10.00

* a day is any period of 8 hours

Whole Arts Centre

If you want to hire the whole centre for a conference the cost is negotiable depending on requirements. Light refreshments (teas/coffee/juice and biscuits) and buffets can be ordered seperately.

Support the Arts Centre

We need sponsorship and support to make the Arts Centre work and to make it sustainable. If you own a local business and want to see your name linked with the Arts Centre, here's how you can help.

Sponsor a production The cost to be the sole sponsor of an Arts Centre production is just £250. For this your name is on the programme and in all the advertising associated to the play. You will get four free tickets for any performance of the play and you will be publically thanked for your support. Your name will appear on the sponsors page of the website for a year and you will be listed as a sponsor in the quarterly brochures.

Sponsor a project

We want to develop many projects at the Arts Centre, including choirs, orchestras, music groups, drama productions etc. The cost of sponsoring a project can be anywhere between £50 for some start up materials to £1,000 for running a whole project/event. We can tailor projects to your budget.   Sponsor a club For just £100 for six months you can sponsor a club - book club, writing club or any of the other clubs that we're setting up. Just £100 will provide us with refreshments for the whole six months. You'll have your name in the brochures and on any literature related to the club.

School Partnerships

We are looking to develop partnerships with local schools to be able to deliver performances or activities which compliment curriculums. Any schools wishing to work in parthership should contact Gayle Knight on 01254 398319.
